- A valid national passport or valid East African passport (for EAC nationals)
In lieu of a passport, a National Identification Card or a Certificate of Identity issued by the local immigration authority can be used (Applies only to EAC nationals)
- A valid Yellow Fever Immunisation Card

Loss of Travel Documents
In the unfortunate event of loss of travel documents, report to the nearest police station as soon as possible. You will then be able to access temporary travel documents from your country's diplomatic mission.
Driving Personal Cars
East Africans are allowed to drive private cars across borders and across the entire EAC region, free of charge, for visits no longer than 7 days. Access permits must be obtained at border crossing points.
Citizens of EAC states need not acquire a new license to drive in another EAC country. Valid driver’s licences from any of the Partner States apply anywhere in the EAC region.
